Bajaj Launches Discover 100T - A vehicle with Power of a 125cc and fuel efficiency of a 100cc bike

The 100cc market is being flooded. Latest entry is by Bajaj Auto, who has launched a new 100cc bike for the mass market, laced with premium features called the Discover 100T. The new bike is powered by 102cc DTS-i engine and has a starting price of Rs 50,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The new Discover 100T produces 10.2bhp and 9.2Nm of torque, which the company claims is 30 per cent more than its rivals. Bajaj claims that the bike returns fuel efficiency of 87km per litre. With the new product, Bajaj is trying to offer the power of a 125cc motorcycle with efficiency of 100cc.

Bajaj already has both Platina and Discover in the 100cc segment, but neither of them are premium products. The new Discover 100T will compete with the bikes like Hero passion Pro and Honda Dream Yuga where it hopes to sell 40,000 units to 45,000 units per month.

The new bike gets features like five-speed gearbox, DC electricals,  nitrogen dampers, T stand, auto choke, Electric start and alloy-wheels as standard equipment.  The Discover 100T is based on the new Discover platform for an investment of just Rs five crore to Rs six crore.
